I don’t sell anything else

Many employee energy inspectors work for companies who also sell home performance products and services. While these employee auditors may have a particular specialty, they might miss the bigger picture of how your home performs. I analyze your home as a whole system. As an independent consultant, I do not sell any other services.

You get access to the best contractors

I know the best contractors in the business and I can refer you to them. I take the time finding and vetting contractors in the business so you do not have to spend hours searching on your own with limited knowledge of the industry.

I accept no referral fees

Referral fees are common in the home service industry and I do not accept them. These premiums often add 5 to 10% on estimates for work. Where contractors have offered me referral fees, I tell them to add it as a line item discount off your bid!

All contractors make some mistakes

I am also available to check a contractor’s work. This quality assurance work commonly includes:

  • Pressure test to measure how much air sealing was actually done at the house. If it is too tight, I can recommend ventilation strategies.
  • Infrared scan to check that the contractor insulated all the walls
  • Inspection of attic and crawl spaces to visually inspect proper installation of insulation and other materials
  • Duct leak testing to make sure the ducts were adequately sealed
  • In progress inspections: I can check work in progress to make sure attic air sealing work is done right (we won’t be able to check thoroughly after they insulate) as well as make sure the contractor’s wall insulation machine is blowing material at the right density (so that it does not sag later on).

My job is not done until you are happy

I am dedicated to the environmental benefits of reducing home energy use, maximizing quality and comfort in your home, and I guarantee your satisfaction with our services.
